Full job description
SUMMARY
The Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Foam Division Sales Department. This individual will focus on driving growth in foam fabrication, molded polyurethane, and precision-cut components (e.g., CNC, waterjet). The Sales Manager will report to the Division Director of Sales and play a critical role in expanding our footprint across industrial, medical, packaging, and custom OEM applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership to the sales team with a focus on molded foam and fabrication markets.
- Motivates and encourages sales team to ensure revenue and margin targets are met.
- Works with sales and operations teams on growth strategies, customer challenges, costing, and pricing.
- Builds relationships with vendors and key suppliers to promote new products and control material costs.
- Assists with the development and promotion of innovative foam-based product solutions.
- Reviews and analyzes sales and operational data to project sales, determine profitability, and identify new opportunities in medical, industrial, and packaging sectors.
- Identifies and responds to customer preferences and industry trends to guide strategic sales efforts.
- Assigns territories and sets performance goals for regional and territory managers.
- Meets with prospective customers to understand their needs and recommend customized foam solutions.
- Resolves customer complaints and sales team issues that affect performance or customer satisfaction.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop forecasts, sales plans, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepares and manages division sales budgets; reviews expenses and ensures alignment with targets.
- Represents the company at trade shows and industry association events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hires and trains regional and territory sales staff focused on foam fabrication and molded products.
- Oversees territory planning, performance tracking, and customer development activities.
- Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Manages discipline, coaching, and terminations in accordance with company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation ability.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Experience with Power BI/Tableu/Qlik or other data visualization tools for sales reporting and pipeline analysis.
- Familiarity with foam materials (polyurethane, polyethylene, crosslinked foams) and related converting processes such as waterjet cutting, CNC fabrication, lamination, and adhesive bonding preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or a minimum of 5 years of comparable sales leadership experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in foam fabrication, industrial manufacturing, packaging, or related sectors.
- Experience with Salesforce, CRM systems, and AI-enabled sales tools is preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
