Arlington, TX – September 23, 2022 – American Excelsior Company, a leader in solutions for flexible foam, wood fiber and erosion control, has received the 2022 Golden Maple Business Achievement Award. This award was presented to American Excelsior Company by the Norwalk Economic Development Corporation’s (NEDC) Board of Directors at the NEDC’s Annual Award Ceremony in Norwalk, Ohio. The Norwalk Economic Development Corporation’s is a private, nonprofit organization which aims to identify and capitalize on opportunities to continuously improve the Norwalk area’s business base, recognizes the businesses, leaders and entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves for their contributions to the economic development of the Norwalk area.
This recognition follows the 60,000 square foot expansion of the Norwalk, Ohio facility that was completed in Fall 2021 that provided additional employment opportunities for the Norwalk area and increased American Excelsior Company’s production and distribution capabilities. The manufacturing facility is divided into two separate manufacturing operations. One producing foam products for the company’s Flexible Foam Division, which provides foam products used in packaging, furniture, medical, and many other industries. The other manufacturing operation produces a variety of products used in the construction industry to help erosion control and sediment runoff products as part of American Excelsior’s Earth Science Division.
Casey Poignon, General Manager of the Norwalk facility said, “It was a wonderful surprise to receive this local recognition along with state recognition. The Norwalk team is proud to share what we do here and represent the company.”
